How to make your own energy
Electricity as we all know, is a fundamental necessities in today’s world. Our lives are so dependent on electrical devices that living without them is something none of us can imagine.
Consumption of electricity is increasing very fast every month, while production is is not matching up to demand. The huge amount of electrical power wasted by us only worsens the situation. In such a situation, finding economical yet productive ways of creating electricity and using them to meet our individual or community’s electrical needs is the need of the hour.
At Individual Level...
Creating electricity for personal use isn't the hardest thing in the world. There are many ways to create electricity so as to meet ones individual requirements. As we all know, just like energy can never be created out of thin air but needs to be converted from one form to another, electricity also can’t be manufactured out of thin air. One needs to convert other forms of energy into electrical energy. Renewable sources of energy such as solar energy, wind energy, hydro energy, etc. are the best forms from which electricity can be generated.
At individual level, the electricity generated is used for meeting ones own or ones family’s needs. If you want to manufacture electricity in large quantities so as to serve a community, village, city or a state, you will require huge power plants to generate as well as store electric power, which you will have to manufacture in bulk. Electricity in large quantities can be produced from the following as well as other methods such as from Nuclear power plants, solar power plants, etc.
Following are the methods and techniques which will help you to manufacture electricity at individual level.
Electricity from Solar energy
For those who live in sunny, hot regions, where solar energy is available in plenty, this method source of energy is perhaps the most profitable, resulting in savings to the tune of thousands of dollars every yearsource is the most suitable for producing electricity.
You will need strong, durable windmills for this process. Blowing winds cause the blades of the windmill to rotate. The windmill fan is connected to a shaft passing through its axis that rotates simultaneously with the rotation of the fan. This shaft is generally attached to a turbine which will generate electrical energy from mechanical energy.
One can either buy pre-made generators and windmills or you can construct one by yourself by taking help of various manuals and E-books.
Electricity from Mechanical Energy (Cycling, running, etc)
You would be surprised to know that electricity can be generated from simple common health activities like cycling or running (on treadmill). For that, one needs an unsophisticated and simple electricity generator built from turbine(s) and a motor to change the mechanical energy into electricity. While you run on the treadmill or cycle on the bicycle, the wheels/fan on the turbine are made to rotate. The electric motor (or the generator) converts this mechanical energy into electrical energy which can be stored in batteries or cells and can be used then or later, whenever required.
One doesn't have to necessarily purchase generators from the market, generators are quite simply and easy to build. In fact, there are many manuals on the Internet which can help you do this.
From Bio Diesels, Bio Fuels
Electrical generators, freely available in the market make use of this technique to generate electricity from bio fuels like Biogas, methane, etc. Most generators use Petrol or diesel as fuel, but they can’t be combined in this category as petrol, diesel, etc. are not bio fuels but are instead non renewable sources of energy.
Obtaining pre-made generators or creating them yourself to produce electricity from bio fuels will help a great deal in fulfilling all your energy needs. Bio fuels are available in abundance and hence can be termed as a renewable, non-exhaustible and inexpensive source of energy. Hence you can manufacture electricity for ones own private use very easily and one make massive savings in terms of money, as well as electric power, thereby helping to preserve the environment in the process as well.
Besides these four popular methods, electricity can be manufactured from other sources like hydro energy, from bio diesels, bio fuels and other wastes, from mechanical energy (other ways), through wave or tidal energy, etc. but these methods are mostly used to generate electric energy in large quantities, which is then used to serve large societies and communities.
